"Shop Supervisor/Master Technician/Painter"

My name is Ricky Jump. I am 22 years old and I live in Cambridge. Two of my passions in life are my fiancée and cars. I love to take an old beat up, rusted up car or truck and make them look like the day they rolled off the lot. I attended Cambridge South Dorchester High School and I also attended The Dorchester County School of Technology also known as Vo-Tech. I graduated in 2006 from there I attended Wyo Tech in Blairsville, Pa. While I was there I studied Collision and Refinishing, Trim and Upholstery, and Street rod and Custom Fabrication. I graduated from there in 2007. I started working at R&M in July of 2010.

How I got my first love for cars is a funny story, when I was 12 years old I had a model of a Volkswagen Beetle “Bug”. I wanted to give it a “custom” paint job. I spent all night sanding and taping the flames up. When I finished panting I took the tape off, well when I did the paint pulled off with it. I got very mad and took and dumped a full five-gallon gas can on the bug. Then I took a match and set it on fire. I gave it a “custom” paint job. I find that story funny because that is what I love doing custom paint jobs. I will promise you this that is the only car of any kind that I have set on fire because of paint pulling off when I remove the tape.

No one in my family really had any interest in cars, so I figured I would start my own. Maybe my kids will follow in my footsteps.

I love doing this kind of work because I get to take something that is all rusted and beat up and make it look like a million bucks. When I paint a car I like to think of it as artwork, you can’t judge it when it first arrives. You have to sit back and watch the magic happen. You judge when it leaves.

My skills are endless I can do anything that gets thrown my way.

•    Painting (something small all the way up to full blown custom, and always smooth and slick)
•    Welding (I-car certified)
•    Custom sheet metal fabrication
•    Wet sand and Buffing
•    Body Work
•    Interiors (original and custom)
•    Any kind of panel replacement (quarters, floor pans, frame rails, fire walls, roofs)

And I could not have a better family to work for than the Hutchins!

Team Bio's

  • Mark-mugshot "Shop Supervisor/Master Assembly Tech/Wiring Guru"

I was first inspired by a Hot Wheels 1968 Camaro then saved money to buy a 69. Then worked my way through auto courses at the Wyotech Performance Center where I acquired my attention to detail and wiring knowledge. After school I spent a few years building hot rods and Muscle Cars at Hot Rod Garage. I have been building cars and engine for 12 years now. I love to see the end result of all the hard work in a project. I do assembly, chassis fabrication, wiring, & engine tuning. I enjoy working with everyone at R & M and look forward to growing with them in the future. I'm happily married with a Daughter, 3 dogs, & 2 horses. I spend my time with my family, building cars, & hunting.

  • Justin Januska

    "Master Metal Fab/ Fiberglass Specialist"

I was born on 12-27-73 in Tampa, Florida to Charles & Arlene Januska. I have 2 younger sisters. I’ve liked the classics since I can remember. The first thing I learned to draw was a VW bug and I have loved vehicles and anything mechanical ever since. I took auto mechanics classes at VO Tech in High School and cars have always been a way to pay the bills and love what you’re doing. I have worked at R&M since 2007 and love it!

  • Harold McBane

    "Body / Prep Master"

Hi, I’m Harold and am 49 years old and have been working on cars since I was seven years old. Starting with a Formula 1 Eagle at Indy in the Mid 60’s and racing has been in my blood ever since.

I’ve been with R & M since around April of 2010 as a body technician, also known as a “Mudman”. I love what I do and turning these cars into classics once again. I only love my work when I know I’ve got her straight!

  • R&M-Logo

    "Facility Maintenance Supervisor"

Hi, my name is TyAnthony and I am a proud employee of R & M Performance. I’ve always love putting together model and display cars as a child with my Father and I guess it has just stuck with me. My job now is mainly focused on keeping the day to day operations of the grounds and facility up to par. I love my job because of the great people I work around!

  • Butch Thomas

    "Concourse Restore Manager"

    I have worked at R & M Performance since Jan.2010.

I started in High School auto shop and it has just grown into a passion of mine. After High School I attended Spring Garden Institute in PA for Auto Service and Repair, was drafted in 1968 into the ARMY and continued my education to become a wheel and track mechanic. After Military service I went to working as a full time mechanic and machinist. I have raced competition cars in drag racing when I started but then moved into dirt track ovals w/ the SCCA.

I love what I do because, I know when I’m finished a project it’s as good or better then when it left the showroom.  My main skills are in the engine design, specs, & layouts but can do all things in the automotive field.
